Vision and policy
Living, working, and recreating safely below sea level is less logical than you might think. Preventing flooding also involves a lot of work. And what about ensuring sufficient clean, fresh water? We make these 'obvious' things possible, in the service of society.
But the climate is changing, sea levels are rising, and the ground is sinking. This could have major consequences for the Hollands Noorderkwartier region. How will we manage water in our area in the future? Together with municipalities, interest groups, citizens, and the province, we have made choices regarding water safety, flooding, and sufficient clean, fresh water: the Delta Vision.
The Delta Vision has been translated into a medium-term Water Plan (WBP6). In this plan, we present our course for the period 2022-2027 and the tasks we are working on ourselves and with others. We are building on our regional Delta Vision (2012), the Water Program 2016-2021 (WBP5), and our College Program 2019-2023. The water plan can be found atwaterplanhhnk.nl. You can also download it below as a PDF.
We are currently working on the Vision for the Future 2050+.
