Den Helder

In November, we will be taking aerial photographs of the sea dikes between Den Oever and Den Helder using a drone.

The dikes between Den Oever and Den Helder do not meet the standard in several places.

Solar parks are being constructed at three locations in Den Helder: on the Oostoever site, on the wastewater treatment plant site, and along the Balgzand Canal (Spuikanaal).

We monitor the dynamics of beaches and dunes. This paves the way for the implementation of Nature-based Solutions in the North Sea region.

At the De Helsdeur pumping station, we are investigating how plastic is spread through the water system and how we can prevent this plastic pollution.

At the Helderse Zeewering, the asphalt on the outside of the dike no longer meets the standard.

Part of the Havendijk does not meet the latest water safety requirements. In the exploratory phase, we are investigating possible solutions.

With this project, we are improving fish migration and fish diversity between the Wadden Sea, the hinterland, and the IJsselmeer.

There are moles in some places in our dikes. For water safety reasons, we have them removed by a professional mole catcher.
